Hard Maple is another favorite turning wood of mine. The color is not as striking as Cherry or Red Oak but this wood has an understated beauty all its own. Hard Maple is plentiful in the Northeast, and these trees can exceed three feet in diameter. Hard maple is stable, durable, and food safe. Hard Maple has been for centuries and continues to be a wood of choice for kitchen woodenware.
